Driver Education - 2020 Schedule
June 10 Students will meet in the auditorium to learn the expectations, meet the instructors, set-up driving times, review the Kansas Handbook, and take the Handbook Test. Last names A-M (7:30 – 9:15 am); Last names N-Z (9:30 – 11:15 am) – GBHS will follow regulations issued by the Governor of Kansas – Phase 3
June 15-26 Driver Education Classroom meet one hour a day (Monday-Friday) Classroom times: 7:30 am, 8:30 am, 9:30 am, 10:30 am; GBHS will follow regulations issued by the Governor of Kansas – Phase 4
June 29-30 Defensive Driving taught by Steve Billinger in the GBHS auditorium – 7:30-10:00 am and 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
July 3 Pick-up Certificates of Completion
Behind-The Wheel Instruction Each student will drive for a one week period starting on June 15. Some students will drive in July.
Drivers Education - 2020 Enrollment
Dates: May 18 & 19, 2020
Times: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Location: Great Bend High School – enter through the front doors
Regulations: GBHS will follow the regulations issued by the Governor of Kansas – Phase 2
What to Bring: Original birth certificate (no copies), Instructional Permit (if have one)
Fees: $150 full pay lunch status student $100 free/reduced lunch status student
Vision: A current vision exam within the past year will be necessary. A free vision screen will be available at the enrollment
Student: The student needs to be at the enrollment since he/she will answer several questions and sign the DE99 form
Last Day to Enroll May 29, 2020
Age of Student To be eligible to take Driver Education, the student needs to be 14 by 6/15/2020
