Q: Will school/student education continue?

While buildings are closed for the remainder of this week, education in Great Bend will be re-imagined and delivered in new ways moving forward. In coordination with schools across the State, USD 428 is embarking on a continuous learning plan that will begin with students on Monday, March 30.

Q: What is the timeline?

To prepare for student learning, teachers will report on Monday, March 23 (virtually & in person). They will spend next week developing new and innovative ways to deliver instruction and learning, preparing to engage students on March 30.

Q: Will meals be available?

Free meal packages will continue to be available at the five elementary buildings, Monday – Friday from 11am – 1pm through May 21, and then again June 1 - July 2. These are available to all children 18 and under.

Q: When can i collect my student's personal belongings?

Your buildings are working on a timeline for students and families to retrieve personal belongings. Please be patient with us on this. In some cases, we will be coordinating pick-up of devices, packets or other resources. More details will be provided soon.

Q: Will the school year be extended?

The Continuous Learning Plan will carry us through the next eight weeks to the end of the school year. We will not extend the school year beyond May 22.
